An Evening in Malaga
Shot with an Olympus E-M10
Malaga is full of photographic opportunities. From the port area to the old town, there are so many beautiful and interesting things, you could close your eyes and take good photographs.
The shot of the man taking a photograph of the sunset was what my friend calls a ‘happy accident’ . I tried to get the same photo a few times but he was moving too quickly and when I finally got it, the phone screen lined up perfectly with the port buildings.
The old town of the city centre is beautiful. I liked the pastel colours and repeating patterns of this scene.
Can’t beat a bit of city grunge to make interesting photographs… to me at least!
The port area is best visited late evening, the light at this time around the harbour area is perfect for creative photography.
The mix of natural and street lighting in this photograph works really well. Just a shame about the extra person on the left spoiling the composition.
Malaga has lots of beautiful old streets that make awesome locations for night photography.
One thing I always find difficult with in my photography is choosing whether to present an image in black and white or colour. For example the images below, I really like the colour of the sign but in black and white the eye naturally falls on the real subject of the photo, the lady looking at the film posters.
Like all big cities, there’s always something happening in Malaga, I stumbled upon a procession for the Virgen del Gran Perdón on my way back to my hotel.
The platform is heavy!
