This is a really nice walk from Playa Granada to the centre of Motril. The change from open fields to industrial areas to the commercial centre in the evening gives plenty of opportunities for photographing different subjects.

I did this walk with an Olympus E-PL5 and the Olympus ED 9-18mm wide angle zoom lens. The lens is actually for the original four-thirds mount but I have an adaptor to use it on my micro 4/3 cameras. It has pretty good quality for the price.

Part way through the walk I came across a field where there had been a fire and the ground and some palm trees had been burnt. The colour of the burnt trunks with the warmth of the setting sun was incredible. This image, I’ve boosted a bit (a lot) to make it more punchy.

The burnt trees looked really good in black and white. Almost like they have been covered in crude oil.

The sky was also spectacular on this day and the wide angle lens really emphasised this.

Walking back along into town along the Rambla de las Brujas the sky was constantly changing colours.

When I reached the Alcampo car park the sunset was still making the sky rich in colours. This is one of the least attractive parts of Motril, but this evening it almost looked beautiful.

The light had nearly gone for the evening but I found one more thing to photograph – the sign for the Burger King exit with Mercadona in the background.
