Being a bit of a cheapskate I always like to find old lenses and see what level of quality I can get from them. This Tokina 28-210mm came with a Cosina 19-35mm and both lenses were only 20€! On this day, I decided to just take the Tokina 28-210mm as it covers wide to telephoto and I have a weakness for the simplicity of just zooming in and out and not changing lenses.
I live in a village with a river flowing through it – the Guadalfeo. The valley has impressive mountains on all sides and is always a nice walk.
Due to the amount of water in the valley, there are a lot of small farms growing seasonal vegetables and also fruit trees.
They are currently installing huge pipes to carry water from the dam at the top of the river valley to places along the coast that are suffering from a lack of water. These make interesting subjects for photographs.
There’s some old infrastructure in the valley which also makes nice subjects (in my opinion at least) for photography.
When doing a little photowalk, it’s always worth looking for interesting textures and contrasts in materials
Here’s a couple of images that show how nice the quality can be combining an old full frame camera like the Nikon D700 with a 90s superzoom like this Tokina.
