Photographing Bamburgh Castle in Black and White

Shot with a Nikon F301 on HP5 film

Post Updated:

One of my cheap camera challenges using a Nikon F301 and a Super Paragon 35-100mm lens. Total cost of the camera and lens was less than £17 (about $23). I shot this on HP5 film which as a 400 ISO film is quite grainy in 35mm format.

Bamburgh Castle and Beach

I’ve mentioned before about how similar photos taken on beaches in the North East of England are to the ‘matchstick men’ paintings of  L.S. Lowry.

At the other end of the beach to the castle is Bamburgh Lighthouse.

The whole area between the lighthouse and the castle is full of photographic opportunities.

Rocks and seaweed on Bamburgh Beach

Apart from the castle there are other great photography locations in different parts of Bamburgh itself.
